FAQ
How does it work? No matter the size or age of your company, we gain an understanding of the type of professional internship you have available and complete a work placement description. We search for suitable profiles and send you CVs for consideration. We organise a conference call/telephone interview with your preferred candidate(s). We confirm the internship offer to the successful candidate and send you all the details once the student has completed final registration. Easy!
How much does it cost? There is no charge to the host-company for organising the first internship in Ireland. Second and subsequent internships carry a nominal search & secure fee of €150 ex VAT. We do ask all companies to consider a monthly subsistence allowance to the intern while in post.
Does the company have to organise accommodation for the intern? No. We always welcome any recommendations regarding good quality accommodation near to place of work but the company is not expected to organise accommodation. Either the intern chooses to organise their own accommodation or Evergreen Internships will do so.
How do I pay the allowance?
The payment of a subsistence allowance is entirely at the discretion of the host-company. It is our recommendation that this is structured as the reimbursement of expenses. The host-company should consult with their accountant/financial controller to confirm how this is best accommodated.
Is there a contract of employment? There is an Internship Agreement (not a Contract of Employment). The Service Level Agreement is supplied by the student’s University. For further details and recommendations on Internship Agreements, please refer to Evergreen Internships Terms & Conditions.
What about leave days? Unless there is provision made for leave entitlement in the Internship Service Level Agreement, there is no automatic leave entitlement. Any leave request(s) can be discussed and agreed between intern and host-company.
What if my internship is unpaid? We advertise unpaid internships just as we would paid internships. It is worth noting that a paid internship will generate more interest than an unpaid one. Those looking for short-term internship offers are more likely to consider and accept an unpaid internship than those seeking medium to long-term internships.
